Occupational Therapy treatment is often recommended after the initial assessment. The intensity and frequency of treatment can be wide ranging depending on the needs identified. Treatment needs may be short-term (i.e. four sessions) or longer-term (i.e. multiple sessions per week over an extended period). I take significant care to ensure treatment recommendations are as reasonable as possible from a cost, child tolerance, and family lifestyle perspective. Treatment sessions are 50 minutes in duration.

The treatment model employed is dependent on the needs of each child. I often utilize a Sensory Integration approach when working with children. My clinical special interest is in the areas of sensory processing, difficulties with emotional self-regulation, social skill development and anxiety. In addition, a significant component to my clinical work focuses on improving functional fine and gross motor skills.

I have recently introduced Integrated Listening Systems as a treatment option.
